Agriculture, Plastics & Environment: XXIst CIPA CONGRESS

Every three years, the CIPA organizes its congress in a different country. For the first time in 50 years, the International Congress of Plastics in Agriculture was held in France, at the Palais des Congrès in Arcachon, from May 29th to May 31st.

The main purpose of this congress:  plasticulture improves production in quantity and quality, using less pesticides, fertilizers, waters, etc.

As usual, this congress brought together world-renowned guests such as: Clariant, ExxonMobil, CPA, APE, Cobalpa, RKW, Adivalor, le Groupe Barbier etc.

In the last few years, several standards concerning plastics used in agriculture and horticulture have been published by CEN. This year, new standards will be added and the old ones will be revised by the European Committee for Standardization.

At this Congress, the Barbier Group wanted to comment on the main changes of existing standards and explain the main requirements of new ones.

As a major player in recycling and circular economy, the Barbier Group also wanted to show that plastic solutions have less and less impact on the environment.
